MASSP Attorney
Roger J. Aronson has been counsel and lobbyist for MASSP since 1981, and practices law in Minneapolis.
Roger is a graduate of St. John’s University and the University of Minnesota School of Law. In the year 2001, he was selected by Law and Politics Magazine as one of Minnesota’s top lobbyists and in 2002 was selected as a Minnesota Super Lawyer.
Aronson is a frequent speaker and lecturer on school law topics. He is co-chair of the Minnesota State Bar Association’s School Law Conference and is on the executive committee of the education lobbyist’s group, BELL. In addition, Roger is Special Projects Counsel for the Minnesota State High School League, and represents the Minneapolis Principals’ Forum and St. Paul Principals’ Association, and the Minnesota Elementary School Principals Association. He is a member of the Minnesota Council on School Attorneys as well as the National Council on School Attorneys.
Legal Service
Legal protection for secondary school principals is essential in today’s society. MASSP members are eligible for legal services in a variety of circumstances including: employment rights, discipline matters, licensure cases, discharge hearings and other investigatory proceedings.
MASSP members receive legal advice and information regarding school questions, status and welfare matters and statutory interpretations. In addition, legal seminars are offered to provide proactive legal information.
Legal counsel will be provided:
- To members in cases of discharge, demotion, or suspension
- In unrequested leave of absence and other layoff matters
- In licensure matters
- In investigations of principal performance and behavior
